Students will be reviewing their recent MNPS Benchmark Narrative Writing Essays. After their initial writing, we discussed how to improve their writing to the prompt supplied. Students then wrote another essay to the same prompt.
We will also be reviewing the importance of asking critical questions as we read.
Students will read, reflect, and write about the historical event of the assault on Fort Sumter and the Battle of Bull Run, as we will soon begin our novel, Bull Run.
Please ask your student to show you they have completed their daily posted homework assignment on Edmodo, each Monday through Thursday afternoons.
Thank you!

Week of Oct. 7th, 2018
Students completed their first multi-paragraph essay last week on the Los Higos Chapter. Very pleased with the progress we are making together. Students will complete their ILF unit on Pam Munoz Ryan
The MNPS District Benchmark practice writing assessment will be administered tomorrow and Tuesday. Students will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skill at prompt writing. Following my grading the test, students will be reviewing their product after Fall break. I strongly believe the success of our Spring TN READY test scores had much to do with modeling my writing expectations, practicing reflecting and writing skills, and most importantly, learning from our efforts.
I thank you for your support these past 9 weeks, and I look forward to the next nine weeks.
Remember, ask your student to show you they completed their afterschool daily Edmodo assignment, Monday through Thursday.
