Weeks of Nov. 5th & 13th
Students will be completing their informative and opinion essays we began last week on the issue of Voting.
Student led conferences with their parents are scheduled for Tuesday. Your student will lead their conference using their class folders from each subject. Teachers will be in the room to provide direction if needed. The responsibility is primarily on the student to share their work and reflections on their academic progress and their behavior with their parents. Teachers have included a teacher reflections document in your student's folder. In the event a parent wishes to discuss an issue regarding their student in more depth, a meeting will be scheduled at another time.
Students will be reading informational texts on Fort Sumter and The Battle of Bull Run, as a lead in to our class novel, Bull Run by Paul Fleischman. Students will be summarizing and reflecting on the texts as a prelude to the TN READY 5th Grade Writing Assessment.
Daily homework assignments are posted each Monday through Thursday on Edmodo.
Field Trip to TPAC on Nov. 13th. Permission slips and $13.00 need to be turned in ASAP.
