Welcome students and families!
Dear students,
I am so happy to have the opportunity to help you grow academically, socially, and personally, this coming school year. Our three main class goals are to become improved readers, writers, and thinkers. It is my job to show you rather than tell you how we will achieve those goals. As your teacher, I am here to guide you each step of the way.
This week we will be learning how we do things in our classroom and at Head Middle Magnet. We will also have multiple opportunities to practice our reading, writing, and thinking. We start slowly and then move with a quicker pace. We go forward together, and we never leave anyone behind!
This week, we will be completing a practice assessment that will help me identify your strengths and any weaknesses. Next, we will also learn about reading informational text in the form of a travel brochure about our city. Lastly, we will learn how to be better listeners!
We will be signing up in class this week or next with two on-line programs that we will use for daily practice work at home. Otherwise known as "HOMEWORK!" Our ELA assignments are short in time and focused on what we are learning in class. You will receive a grade for "HOMEWORK."
Your practice work at home assignments are posted each day on line on these programs.
