Self Reflection:

Students will be tested this week on Monday and Tuesday with the MNPS ELA Benchmark test. The test will be timed and no extended time will be provided.

This will require students' full attention in reading a passage, making notes, answering 4 multiple choice questions, and writing to a specific prompt instruction.  Students will have two class periods over two days to complete.

Students will end the week with our focus on reading and analyzing literature from our scope and sequence materials. Pam Munoz ILF Unit excerpts: The Party; Los Higos; A Paddling of Ducks.

Students will analyze the essential questions of "Why do people make certain choices? What can we learn about individuals and groups based on the choices they make? How do influences in your life change your perspective?" Lesson objectives are: comparing and contrasting characters, determining Author's Purpose, identifying key details and evidence, and quoting accurately from a text.
